Our 24-hour creativity workshop!

It was announced in our first newsletter: Opteven Lab is also a place to be creative. So, needless to say, we inaugurated our Lab with an innovation & creativity day at Opteven: the iDay! This event was organized in partnership with the company Nexenture, the creator of the project.

iDay, 24 hours to innovate!

The day began with a creative start that set the tempo for the rest of the activities. Each employee was invited – via a login and password – to connect to an e-platform where they could submit their ideas. And so many employees did just that! In total, there were 238 participants, including 166 suggested ideas and 4509 “likes”! There were 5 categories to choose from:

  • Innovating customer products and services
  • Improving the digital experience
  • Maintaining the enthusiasm of the teams
  • Eliminating what’s unnecessary, simplifying our work
  • Thinking Internationally
  • Increasing loyalty amongst Opteven customers

And they were obviously inspired because … 787 ideas were collected!!!

Participants were able to get their creative juices flowing in the various creative workshops programmed throughout the day. And most of them came up with a lot of new ideas!

Working together on real innovation issues …

Working together on real innovation issues …

Many good ideas came from all levels of the company: Quick-wins for immediate benefits, Golden Nuggets for future projects … Some have even been congratulated for their innovative ideas.

But the iDay day goes beyond a simple innovation issue for the company. It is also a unifying business event involving all employees regardless of their position, the country they work in, their language, whether they are based at headquarters or not … Opteven was able to involve its teams in Italy and England (an English version of the platform was available). iDay is also a managerial tool: a way to engage and involve all employees in the company project.

The event generated quite a lot of enthusiasm and excitement. But, after gathering all the different ideas, what did we do with this windfall of innovations? All the ideas were analysed one by one by the jury. Golden Nuggets and Quick-wins were rewarded by the jury, as were the most popular ideas and the department that participated the most. Everyone who put forward an idea was given feedback on each idea to know what the next step would be.
